First official demo from this Danish thrash act. I was quite excited to hear them, cuz I've always known about them without hearing them. Well it would be a lie if I told you that I wasn't surprised. My first impression was that these dudes would develop into one of the best music from Denmark. After you've heard this demo a couple of times, it gets more and more boring. The sound is quite good, but the guitar has a weak and odd effect, which belongs somewhere else, in addition to that there's smashing bass. The guitarist has some good ideas throughout the songs, but they have bad losing parts, and they're your sound wrong tone, but I guess they suck some of the riffs they do. Cool! They've just need some more tightness and they also have bad loose riffs on the next well, then they fade into one of those ridiculous riffs which absolutely takes power and seeks a lot of aggressiveness, and more power! It costs 7 USD.

Quite surprising effort from this young danish thrash act here. Through out the 8 tracks featured they display a lot of new ideas and diversity. Obviously some of it work and some doesn't. Their up-tempo parts gets more chaotic than effectual. At a slow er pace they go by their music much more precisely - and everyone stand up for good musicianship with potential. Well, maybe with an exception of the wince compiling and useless vocalizing by Michael Agger. Not music the appeals much to me - I tend to find the thrashy mid-range quite a bit superficial and lacking nerve, but all put together a trusty and personal effort that does OK being a debut.

This is the first "real" demo from danish deathstars PUGNACITY. It features 7 songs and has a total running time of over 40 minutes!! PUGNACITY plays symphonic/melodic death metal with some more thrash orientated parts. They vary their music alot, and that sure is a positive thing! These guys are handling their instruments ok, but there is a thing that these guys miss: a bit more aggressiveness, and the vocals could also be a bit more brutal... The sound on this demo is nice 'n clear, a bit too nice in my opinion! It could have been a bit "darker"! Her er der noget originalt stof!  
PUGNACITY blander en masse stilarter, og de formår at gøre det godt. Dog er lyden for svag, og sangen er for kedelig, styg og barnagtig for mig. Det med sangen skulle nok gå i orden på deres næste udgivelse, da sangeren på dette bånd har fået det gyldne spark.  

Demoet er langt, faktisk er det over 40 min. Der er ingen grund til at lave et demo så langt, for det bliver bare kedeligt. Demos skal bruges til at checke et bands musik, og det kan man nemt med 4-5 numre.  

Musikken er teknisk og original, og det er et stort plus. PUGNACITY har dog skiftet 100% stil nu, og de skulle efter plane indsende et promotional-tape til pladeselskaber i foråret '93. Køb dette melodiske techno death bånd for 40kr. (fra: samme adresse som THE AXIOM MAG.).

**Bandhistory**  
"It started with Søren, Simon and Henrik, who started doing some fun-thrash under the the name SENSELESS DEATH, but in July '90 they became more serious, changed the name to GOTH and started playing death metal. In December '90 they released their "Celestial Decay" reh. tape, with Søren-guitar, Simon-bass and Henrik-drums/vocals. But Henrik didn't want to sing anymore, so they started looking for a new vocalist. At that time I was singing in a black/doom band called NEPROLESS, but we had lots of line-up problems! 4 months before, me and Søren had met eachother at an INVOCATOR/DEADHEAD gig, and at that time I had told him about NEPROLESS-so he decided to ask me if I would join GOTH-and I said yes, so I've been in the band ever since. We changed our name to PUGNACITY in January '91, it fits better to our music."  
**What have you released?**  
"We have, so far released 2 reh. tapes, the "Celestial Decay" reh. and a 2 track promo tape, recorded in some months before our newest reh. "Sanctus, Sanctus". (None of them are available anymore.)  
**Futureplans?**  
"In February '92 our debut demo "People Live Their Lives..." will be out, it will be recorded in the Borsing recording studio, a 16-track studio owned by Jan Borsing (bassist in PIXIE-KILLERS), and will be with proff. recorded tapes and proff. printed covers-advance orders are taken now,40 Dkr.-5.00 stomp (Denmark), 5$ (Scandinavia) and 6$ (elsewhere). We will hopefully play some gigs after the release of the demo, people who can arrange gigs, please write to me."  
**What does PUGNACITY mean?**  
"Pugnacity means lust for fighting, war etc., but it can also mean to be kind against eachother, chose for yourself... We took the name because it fits perfect to our lyrics and music."  
**A last word?**  
"I would like to say thanx to CANNIBALISTIC MASTURBATION COMPO for doing this, and then I would like to say hello to Thomas Bøgh Larsen (you rule) and Jesper Larsen + the rest of NUGATORY."
