KONKHRA er uden tvivl det danske band der går stærkest i øjeblikket, og det er bestemt ikke uden grund! De udgav killer-cd'en "Stranded" på det nystartede danske selskab PROGRESS RED LABELS i juli. CD'en indeholder 3 nye numre og 3 numre fra deres geniale "Malgrowth" demo. Claus Vedal (sang, guitar) svarer:

**Necro:** Først, fortæl lidt om "Stranded", og dealen med PROGRESS.  
**Claus:** Allerede da vi lavede vores første demobånd "Vicious Circle" var de oppe at køre og syntes det var fedt, og da de så hørte "Malgrowth" og de ville ligefrem møde os og lave plader, var det fedt. Vi fik tilbudet om at være de første der skulle prøve at udgive den store verden, og de lige havde startet på PROGRESS laver et kæmpe arbejde og bruger en masse penge, og der så producerer en stor til plademesse, og så håber jeg man kan få lidt at vi ikke har bundet os for mere end en single. Jeg synes at samarbejdet passer perfekt.

**Necro:** Hvordan er responsen været på den?  
**Claus:** Ja, nu har man jo stået i årevis og hvem her i DK i øjeblikket og så får folk bliver mere kritiske, men det passer os fint. Nå vi et stykke bare har lavet det vi synes var fedt og det vi synes er det andet fingre, og det bliver vi ved med, men der har været mere god respons og kun en smule dårligt, hey hvis nogen af jeg vil læse en dårlig anmeldelse så ville i tage at læse vores dagblad fra søndag d. 16-9-92, der bliver vi godt nok slagtet godt og grundigt, men det er kun til at grine af når det er så typisk at folk ikke aner hvad de snakker om, læs og få en griner, man skulle næsten tro at fyren var fra indre mission, tja en der spiller thrash var en flok hjernevaskede psycho-nakker der "bare" skruer op for sine instrumenter for at larme, og så råder han os til at tage et grundkursus i musik på aftenskole, ha-ha, der skulle ikke nogen der skal lære os at SPILLE, det ville da være det samme som at skære linien over som hedder kreativitet. Det er jo netop det vi death-metal-freaks prøver på, at lave musik der har nogle andre indfaldsvinkler end de såkaldte "musikeren" benytter sig af. Vi kan nemlig gøre, hvad vi vil, i stedet for at finde ud af, hvor mange skalaer, og andre kedelige ting, vi kan blære os med, det er sgu' en gang imellem folk videre med det. Folk er flyttet, det kan man mærke, og hvad ved vi efter i så små mængder ros i masses fordomme om tilsage for godt til os som, scenen er blevet større, men det går langsomt. Vi er bare tolerante, desværre.

**Necro:** Har andre noget tilbud, når I startede gør jer netop af dette?  
**Claus:** De andre tilbud vi har det har vi fra nogle store, så det er vel efterhånden 4–5 stykker. Vi har vadet af PROGRESS, når det er det vigtigere, vi stoler på det, og vi kunne indspille på 4 tracks selvom vi skriver 1992, og bare vent så bliver det bare mere støtte.

**Necro:** Hvordan var det at skulle indspille 3 nye numre mod så kort varsel?

With four CD-releases behind, Konkhra might be the most well-known death metal-band from Denmark. Their latest effort (and most brutal to date) "Spit Or Swallow" shows a great development within the band, starting out as a death/thrash combo and progressing into this very brutal and heavy death'n'roll!! When "Spit Or Swallow" was released around Easter 1995 Konkhra captured a lot of new fans and they even got the possibility to support Deicide and Suffocation on their Euro-tour, and they agreed... of course! It was during this Euro-tour Horrorscope caught Anders Lundemark, vocals, guitar and only original member left, for an interview. Get Hooked!

It has almost been a year since "Spit Or Swallow" was cast upon this planet, so an up-dating on what has happened since then seemed to be a fair question to start with. "The album was released in April and at first we played some concerts with Grope during May. After that we went on to play at the Roskilde-festival which was indeed pretty cool! After Roskilde we went on playing some gigs, this time also with Grope in September/October and now we are here!" But you are!!! Since a year has passed after the "S.O.S"-album we found it quite interesting if Anders still liked that album. "Yes, I like it! But then again, I know that the next will be even better. That's the way it is and always a half year ahead of everybody else! The songs we are playing tonight are from "S.O.S." and therefore one year old, but to some it may still be new material, not to us though."

*GEFÜLLI* & KONKHRI-RIFFS

"Spit Or Swallow" is an album that totally differs from previous Konkhra-releases. So how was the songs actually born? "The album wasn't made with any strict rules - I do it my way! And when I hear a guitar-riff I immediately know if it's a Konkhra-riff or not." Changing from massive death on their "Sexual affecti..." and "Wrought"-album and growing into death'n'roll seemed to be a step in a prefixed fashion for a Konkhra, but on their next album be in the same way or... Will they surprise us once again? "Well at one, Kim, our new guitarist has been to make material as well as I. It's been a long time since I had someone to work along with, Claus, our old guitarist, and I had both different tempers which made it hard for us to work together. I was a lot faster to produce new material compared to Claus who had problems at the time." So what? Now it is nice to have a guitarist... "It works out well since he is kind and knows how much Lars (bass-ed.) has changed. We wanted to make this being something the two of us determined" Mentioning Claus what actually did go on back in the days of death when Konkshra was called Anders what really happened between you two since now there's someone else at the other end of the band. "He left because the stress was too much," explains . He worked some more and had some attempt and some more do with... And he chose on his own. We do still hang out together though. Claus also drives our tour-bus and helps us out."

So, Claus out - Kim in! How did you find Kim? "He just came to the rehearsal-room with his big mouth and started chatting bla. bla. bla! We hung out for a couple of months before he decided to join - it just happened!"  

## ON TOUR WITH DEICIDE & SUFFOCATION  
"The tour has been very succesful untill now. There have been a lot of people at the shows and Deicide is a very controversial band to be touring with!  
For example in Eindhoven, some Christians tried to convert me before I went on stage! We have been playing for crowds of between 900-1500 individuals. This is actually one of the smallest clubs on this tour. Usually it is halls and places that have been visiting! Nils spoke about the relationship to the other bands: "Our relationship with the other bands is really good, you know! The last tour we did with Macabre and Immolation went so well that we thought this tour also would turn out very well. Though they have got two new members since the last tour we still get along extremely good. The guys from Deicide are also okay. They don't say that much though, but they are nice and I like them very much!"  

## HOMEGROWTH  

As some of you readers might have seen or heard of, Konkhra has recently send out a video which already has been showed on MTV's "Headbanger's Ball". At the time we did this interview none of us had ever seen it, so we got Anders to explain a little bit about it. "Our new video contains "Facelift", "Warzone", "Spit Or Swallow", "Drowning" and a jam-session plus a lot of extra shit." Hmmm, great introduction (?).  

## ENTOMED MEETS KONKHRA  
Due to informations from Konkhra's label Progress Records, a new band featuring members from Konkhra and Entombed was being talked about and a release was supposed to be on its way. Anders explained it the following way: "The thing is, that Entombed have been very busy. That there hasn't been any results so far doesn't mean that there never will be, we just have to wait until we've got the time. I have spoke with Nicki but I think he drinks too much. The project results in some material where both our styles are represented; drum-rythm from Entombed and guitar from Kim, because there is much more steel in Kim’s guitar!"  

As mentioned, Konkhra are labelled on Progress Records. In fact Konkhra's first CD-opus was one of the first CDs ever to come out on Progress, when the label was called Progress Red labels. So how is the relationship between Progress and Konkhra after all these years?  
"We have some very mixed feelings about Progress at the moment. What I mean is that some of the things they do are stupid and other things are cool! They have told us that we are the band that is treated best on Progress so I guess we've better be satisfied." So, has the thing that they were very helpful to you in the start in their relationship? "I think it has pushed us a bit ahead anyway. Actually we were very surprised! We didn’t expect to sell that much before we had played some concerts and considering that we haven't done our concerts in Copenhagen or Århus, I claim I am very satisfied. Our new songs really seem to attract people. During our last concert people went totally crazy and bought like maniacs! I think we have become some sort of Cult Object!!!"

On Tour with Deicide & Suffocation: Konkhra's Journey

KONKHRA is the name of one of the most brutal and tight bands to come out of Denmark. After two wellselling demos, they were the first band to be signed on Danish based Progress. That has so far resulted in two CD's, of which the newest, "S.A.D", definately is the strongest. A hot evening in July, I moved my ass to Konkhra's rehearsalroom. There I had this little conversation. Anders (Voc + Guitar) was the most talkative, but Johnny (Drums) and Lars (Bass) also gave their contributions.

- *There have been quite a few line-up changes lately. Is Konkhra still "Konkhra" now that Jørgenchatter Clausen is out?*

  No, it's still totally brutal. NO, of course we're (still) Konkhra! Things have gotten better with these line-up changes. Everybody is contributing, instead of one person having all the ideas. Especially on the vocal side, where Jørgen had a big role in actually writing the lyrics. It's been a wise result looking at the attendance on Live-concerts: the band with the biggest seniority, but duh... We toured with Invoctors as the band with the biggest seniority, but duh... We toured with immortorial and the played with Cemetery in front of 15 people in Germany. That can't really be called successful.

- *So, what would you like to try out now?*

  We'd like to do a complete US tour, including Canada and Mexico. I see that as a thing which I'd really like to do-fry. And when we've tried that (maybe in '95, there will be new things which we wanna try...

- *"S.A.D." is in my eyes a very strong album, both production and soundwise. What surprised me the most was the tightness. Do you really rehearse that much?*

  Do you think it's tight! Ha ha. Well, it must be tight! You can't release an album which isn't tight. Anyways some do it. The tightness or our new songs special, I mean, we don't wear operagarniture, but Chuck is into that sort of thing. But anyways, the release was passing out types, with the hurrahs of innerstinct of arena bands, or the likes. As often as possible, about 3 times a week, I think.
  
- *"S.A.D." I've heard that "Straight A Devast Ballet" was very praised by Dante (Michel Klutin), was it also your idea?*

  He and the fuck should be both proud of the award, they invented the "Hard-rock award" and the Grammy, they won 5 in a stretch, didn't they? They met Metallica, and Anthrax was furious with them. All them were studio and toiletliterature to the peasants...
  
- *How long does rehearsing go? You feel that practicing is vital for the band?*

  Yeah, to a creep! If it wasn't for that, you would be there fairly sad lost. Don’t you? They livestream. A live chances pills?

there are things that they can't do for us, but then again, they can give us things which we can't get elsewhere, for instance that I can just call the case, go buy, and tell him what and how I want things to be.

- *The Roskilde festival just ended. Howcome has Konkhra never played there?*
  
  I think you should ask Roskilde why we haven’t played there yet! Because we don’t know why. I think their yearbook is really like every year-weed. They said that there were a long term word to several phasing things, which always seemed me to shape since I was, like I, a time ago to no webbed by local god Marcus and we were to show then that we could - go play on...then still do. Then when J went direct they went directly from the phone. I went directly to the office and there they had someone to take over. Then things really moved then if you can understand how. Then it can't simply be someone's gift. Then when J went directly to their office, and they were like: ”OK, so this is good!" Before, they had asked one to look into it... ...then they did everything from there. When II meet and worked like we-single strings or something, I asked then what the fuck they were...

*What does the Danish scene? Konkhra now coaxes hours. The former fans of the older albums - and those that refuse to believe in the newcomer-doom-believers who joined your audience contributes.*

  Those sound also help in end there because konkhra has never been a part of the things where they jointly sound with Dead.

- *Anders thinks that Detest, Invenators, or Furious Trauma have anything bigger?*

  What that could increasingly be something more brutal?

- *What do you think about the new bands here in Denmark that pops out these days?*

  I don’t know what we think about them. That depends on who you're talking about. I don’t know about the "new bands" that do Acid. They, some band-release a demotape, and then it's just like "cheese". I just think there are many bands that need bands lack of creative urges and hitch-hikes to what is ever thought. But I think it’s very good, much as Danish bands, which also have a scene (as Sand shifted cider-like Club).
  
- *Have Konkhra ever considered to play any covers songs? Why don’t you ever come to England!*

  Volcution. When Claus (a guy with "monk" in the substitute, thinks they blew a whistle) at this offer, give me some State equivalent, which is 7-piece and you can use to speak some American. But I'm not into that, you might have noticed more. But I thought offering you a new single, I would show would be much more and more of a ceater. With the right financials and the if Pieter or the biographies would shovel a fair spinal-steps perhaps, which it weeks with the religion, I expect things soon a new album. The line is that Cypriots really cheer our release of ever period improved well. Progress are quite pleased. Any of our productions would be any interest. We think there is all of the Netherlands of any seats... want to go forth like a Danish platform who enthusiasms-old of proficient.

- *You said earlier that you were going to do something new in few months. New CD or mini-album?*

  Both! We’ll record 14 songs. Then we do a separate CD, for a separate label, to see which one we could make as a special where and 5 tracks with tight circumstances (includes aversion devices underlies, also reversed)! ... Wicked!

- *I see. You sure seem very well relaxing. I wonder you sounded sleazy in this part...*

  "OK, Let's record it song. There are about 10 songs to record at the hotel when it would play in Tel-Aviv! The very thing night cool, nearly almost and learn about and during time everybody-all thinking about the pool/But then come things again, these ‘Rich” don't know who help these his Hippie!" I’m thinking cool weather out and that they’re enjoying, "Vrolk!" Playfully and she can thing that to not directly-propably next, if they said it.
  
After the interview, I had the chance to hear some of the new Konkhra tunes. They seem to be in the same direction as on their last release. And the band has actually found their own baseball cheer (Pray Grind). Now I'm only wish, and hope that they'll get a chance to play in the states. I ended my searches with Claus, who is not the band anymore, used to do. Konkhra is a band which uses its idol ways, and true that they're here to stay! For damnly occupied today...

Great return from Copenhagen based Konkhra. Their second CD, and way best release this far, has ten songs in the Death/Grind vein, and believe me, it's tight! The opening tune is very strong and powerful. Especially the high-pitched vocals are worth noticing. The other songs haven't got exactly the same ‘touch’ as the opening track, but they're not to be ignored! Nope, this one makes me proud of being Danish!

- Danish KONKHRA who've released their debut CD "Stranded" on PROGRESS, have finally released a follow-up. It came too late to be reviewed in this issue, but I have heard it a few times and I can tell you that it's smokin'. It was recorded in Sunlight (Stockholm) with Tomas Skogsberg as producer. It's entitled "Sexual Affective Disorder". On this 2nd release, KONKHRA introduces 2 new members, Johnny Nielsen on drums and Lars Schmidt on bass.

New Beginnings: KONKHRA's 'Sexual Affective Disorder' and the Addition of Fresh Talent

Claus: Det var ret hektisk, men vi synes alle at vi har fået en live-feeling på cd'en, og det passer os fint, men klart man kan da altid bruge mere tid helt sikkert.

Necro: De nye numre lyder hurtigere end de "gamle". Er det en bevidst udvikling af jeres stil?

Claus: Ja, vores musik er blevet hurtigere men samtidig også tungere. Men det er ikke en bevidst udvikling, omkring musikstil er der ikke noget der er bevidst for vores vedkommende, selvom vi arbejder meget med vores musik, og selvom vi udnytter visse ting som vi mener gør at KONKHRA er det er. Det drejer sig mere om at kunne stå inde for det man laver, hva' fa'en det bygger hele vores livsstil på, og så går man heller ikke galt i byen.

Necro: I har også fået en lidt mere "crunchy" lyd. Er I tilfredse med lydsiden?

Claus: Vi har altid arbejdet meget med lyd, og det skyldes til dels at vores trommeslager JON er en fantastisk tekniker, plus at lydsiden på næste udgivelse vil også være noget anderledes end den vi har på "Stranded" og jeg tror den time der skal gøre vores musikalsk skal man gøre en hel del anderledes, og det er egentlig noget der altid er vores mål. Når vi har mulighed for det lejer vi os ind med proffesorielt udstyr, så vi kan få det bedste ud af vores instrumenter, og helst undgå studieklang over produktionen, og det vil ikke have noget med balance at gøre. Den kan betale sig, helt sikkert.

Necro: Kan du fortælle lidt om dine tekster? De er meget anderledes.

Claus: Det er altid svært at fortælle om sine tekster, mest fordi de repræsenterer noget af en selv, og for mit vedkommende min livsanskuelse. Det virker altid forkert på mig at definere mine tekster og tanker, det er som om de bliver skilt ad, og hele meningen går tabt. Og så er glæden også større når folk får noget konkret ud af at læse dem, når de på forhånd ikke ved hvad de handler om.

Necro: Er der lagt nogen speciel effekt på din stemme i in, og outroen til "Day Break"?

Claus: Det som du kalder in og outroen er ikke min stemme, men noget som Lars Lindum fra RED HOUSE har taget fra en film der hedder THE BLACK WIDOW. Det var noget vi bad ham om at lave efter vi havde indspillet "Malgrowth", og vi brugte det til både vores gigs, og da vi lavede "Stranded" valgte vi at bruge det, da det passede til vores numre.

Necro: Hvad symboliserer coveret?

Claus: Coveret er lavet af Tony Atwater fra USA, og er en de bedste coverberberet. Han laver også covers for DEICIDE, og PROGRESS har købt dette cover, og bestyder FISH BY SRBI for R. Der er også små MICHAEL JACKSON, men her får vores basist Kim Mathiesen en excuses for GUY AITCHISON, i préciserende det er at have PRGRESS meget advarer.

Necro: Hvor optog i videoen "Reality of War"?

Claus: Vi optog den i Ballerup ved højhuset og havde ca. 500 tilskuere, der råbte og skreg, så vi nåede at lave et par gode takes. Der kom også en del der ventede på bussen, men jeg vil vide DÅRLIG produktion de fandt det...

Necro: Ja jeg har hørt at blive promoveret og det er der kræfterne lægges i øjeblikket.

Finally! Another danish band have secured themselves a deal! This time it's the Copenhagen based KONKHRA. "Stranded" features 6 tracks and has a total running time of approx. 30 minutes. 3 of the tracks are old tunes from their "Malgrowth" demo, and the 3 others are brand new. The new tracks are definately the best! I must say that KONKHRA sure has improved alot in time, both as musicians and songwriters! But still I think that they should try to be a little more original. It's not that this is "trendy and all heard before" 'coz it ain't; sometimes this sounds a bit too ordinary, but this is good and worth investing money in! This sure is a fine reputation of KONKHRA! Campus press and recording industries probably seems unfamiliar to all of you, but if I say PROGRESS TATTOO magazine, I bet you all nod and smile.

Anyway, as PROGRESS is doing every farther progress, they have now released their **4th CD** compilation CD called **"Fuck You, We're From Denmark"** a guided tour through the Danish underground. In the past year this label has released: KONKURA **"Stranded"**, MACERATION **"A Serenade of Agony"** and DOUBT. The latest issue of PROGRESS has been released on the 1st of December, and it's more heavy mothafucka, with more metal, more hardcore, more noise, more music, and more info. KONKHRA is one of the most known danish bands. They formed in Nov. '88, and throughout the four year they existed, they've done alot of promotion for themselves and they have gigged alot with underground acts, but also some bigger ones, that are some of the reasons for their "celebrity".

KONKHRA have done two demos: "The Vicious Circle" (1990) and "Malgrowth" (1991). On their debut demo they played thrash in the vein of KREATOR. On the second demo they changed the music to death-thrash. Their second demo, "Malgrowth" has sold pretty well (more than 1000 copies!!), gained a good overall response, and it caught the attention from a couple of bigger labels. The new started PROGRESS RED LABELS signed KONKHRA for one CD release. That resulted in the release of their "Stranded" (July '92) CD. An absolute positive thing about KONKHRA is that they have two vocalists: Claus and Anders, who also play guitars. Claus has got a very thrash voice, while Anders is much more growly. They combine the two voices alot, and the result is good. The two other members in the band being Jon (drums) and Martin (bass) are handling their instruments very well, and they make out a good rythm section! KONKHRA - A danish death-thrash assault!!!

Claus: Den danske scene er den eneste jeg kender, så jeg har ikke noget at sammenligne med, men der er da en del fede bands rundt omkring, så mon ikke den har det meget godt? Selvom der jo ér en del røvknepperi imellem nogle bands, men jo mere succes jo mere røvknepperi, get my point?

Necro: Er der nogle nye danske bands du synes fortjener opmærksomhed?  
Claus: Ja, der er f.eks. Denne cd fra danske KONKHRA indeholder 3 numre fra "Malgrowth" demot'et + 3 nye. De 3 nye numre er hurtigere end de "gamle", men det betyder bestemt ikke at de har mistet den utrolige energi der blev introduceret på demoerne. De nye numre har også en lidt mere beskidt produktion end "Malgrowth" numrene. Anders og Claus deler nu vocalarbejdet, hvilket skaber god afveksling. Dette er power og rå energi fra start til slut, og efter min mening, det bedste bud på dansk "death metal" øjeblikket!!

"Malgrowth" did quite well, and it was an average demo. Here’s the first CD release from KONKHRA, and it is really kicking ass. Super fast death metal with MORBID ANGEL influences. This 6 track CD is well worth your money, cuz it's really good.  
I must admit that I found their demo rather boring. Now I know that it was the sound that did it, cuz this release really has the punch that death metal productions need!  
KONKHRA does some good riff changing and tempo changes, and they include a blasting song collection though mostly slow. What one of the singers follows makes a voice really sound like someone very monstrous, because he in general really tries to be a deep growling motherfucker, the way most of them are. But who heard that...?  
Anyway, "Stranded" is for YOU!

Ja, helt sikkert!  
Hvor bliver pladen udgivet, og hvem står for distributionen her i Europa, efter SPV-aftalen gik i vasken?  
Vi ligger i øjeblikket og forhandler med PROGRESS, som forhandler med en masse forskellige distributionsselskaber, så jeg kan ikke rigtigt fortælle dig noget konkret. Men det ser ud til, at det er ved at lykkes, at få en del distributionssted.  
Pladen er indspillet i SUNLIGHT denne gang. Sidste gang jeg interviewede dig til NECROTICISM sagde du, at du aldrig troede, I ville finde jeres egen lyd. Hvordan passer den nye lyd til KONKHRA?  
Altså, det er vores lyd! Når jeg kalder om "vores lyd", så er det meget specielt, da vi alligevel ikke har fundet den.  
Men du regner ikke med, at den næste plade vil have den samme lyd?  
Næ, men den plade, vi har indspillet nu. Problemet med os har aldrig altid også økonomien. Vi har altid måttet afhænge af sponsorer.  
Hvordan stemmer dette med de nuværende ambitioner i lyset af jeres kontrakt med SPV?  
Eventyret med SPV var, vi skulle stille forlange produktioner, men det mislykkedes. Nu er det navnet! Med PROGRESS arbejdes der på et slående tilbud. Har dog endnu ikke hørt mere...  
En lille vuggefrise det lyder om sound. Problemerne med SPV opstod desuden også grundet aktiviteter i Skandinavien... Vi har åbenbart involdt i både Kasseler og Lübecker, men spurgt om det er værd at få gang i SPV... Da vi således blev tilbudt et budget fra Scandinavia, kan vi ikke se på SPV: For dårlig distribution, så vi jo nødt til at finde et andet pladeselskab. Men problemet med et stort selskab, kan være, at blive nedprioriteret i forhold til andre bands, der allerede sælger godt, hvor vi på PROGRESS bliver prioritet først.  
Du mener, PROGRESS tror mere på jer, end hvis I bare var et nummer i rækken?  
PROGRESS har troet på os hele vejen, og gør det stadigvæk. Nu har vi oplyst vores del af aftalen, ved at lave en god plade, og nu er det deres tur til at sælge plader, og få en distribution der holder, så vi kan få lov til smør på brødet. Vores største ambition lige nu, er, at kunne få udarbejdet et billede der minder, hvis man behøver at trykke de sociale myndigheder i røven, hver gang man skal have en plade. Jeg gad godt, hvis jeg kunne tænke nogen mere.  
Omkring lyrikken, jeg synes, jeg kan se en rød tråd om verdens synder?  
Det er en arbejdsproces. Det er vigtigt at have en rød tråd. Vi tror allesammen, at vi stedet overføres de menneskelige behov, der er et vist overblik oververden. Lad ikke menneskesynet dø før hver menneskets overlevelse...  
Er der noget specielt ved det danske marked i øjeblikket?  
Der findes et væld pr. bruger, og vi lever godt deraf. Al muligt for os til at få et fedt liv! Det gælder bare for os om at komme ud og sprede vores plade: hærværk, bedrag, voldtægt, drab, racisme, dødelighed, incest, børneporno, for lidt til alt det, vi gerne vil have med. Så kan man hænge sig selv derfra på selvmord, narkotikamisbrug og intet høre til, når det er sket! Ikke den ordentlige raping, imóvelen det er en grimringe, og vi får dog penge ud af hele pladen.  
Line-upen er ændret siden "Stranded". Johnny og Jesper Wind erstattede kort for Jonas og Martin. Har det ændret noget for bandet?  
Nej, da Johnny gik tilbage trommeslageren Jon, helt klart, har han hjulpet os meget på det sæt. Jesper en god bassist for Jonas og Martin, men de havde mistet gejsten.  
Lars Smdi spiller jo stadig i FURIOUS TRAUMA, men han prioriterer vel KONKHRA høst?  

Navigating Challenges and Changes: KONKHRA's Quest for Their Signature Sound

Ja, det gør han. Det var sagt til ham, at det var en
betingelse. Hvis han så går hen og får fornye| sin
pladekontrakt med FURIOUS TRAUMA, har han 2
måneders opsigelse.
Kommer Lars og Johnny til at skrive mere materiale,
evt. tekster til næste plade ?
Nej, det tror jeg ikke. Jeg er meget glad for at skrive, og
Lars får ligesom sin ting ud i FURIOUS TRAUMA.
Jeg tror arbejdsfordelingen vil se meget ud som den er
nu. Måske kommer jeg til at være mere med til at lave
musikken. Men vi bliver ved at lave det, hvad vi er
glade for.
Spiller I en masse gigs nu, eller hva’ ?
Ja, vi har spillet ti rundt om med FROZEN SUN, og
nu tar vi på Europa-tourne med SUFFOCATION og
SURURATION.
Har I en fornemmelse af hvor jeres fans befinder sig ?
Har det nogensinde »brændt« når I har været i Kbh. ?
Njah...slet ikke. Der kan være over 200 i BARBUE,
København, 125 i Esbjerg, indrømmet 19 på CAFe
1000FRYD, Aalborg. Men det eneste sted der er
sket noget, er i Randers.
Hvad synes du om ILL DISPOSED’s udgave af
BLACK WIDOW ?
Det er [BLACK WIDOW]... Näh! Altså første gang jeg
hørte det, havde Folk ikke sagt det. Men det åbner selv
følgelig ens egen sang op i en morsomhed, idet man
kan sige: ja, sådan lyder det uden os ! Det er kult for
KONKHRA, og måske syntes der er en lorteslutning.
Hvilken ligefrem sangene det er funderet i.
KONKHRA, har i forvejen sagt det, at disse eksempler er
KONKHRA, il’ rigtig lag. Men det skal også være. Og
det var heller ikke så meget dyr at afhive koncert.

kontrollerede grindpartier. Lyden er kreeret i
Tomas Skogsbergs SUNLIGHT-studie, med
selvsamme mand ved knapperne, og resultatet er
fremragende. Lyden er fyldig, pågående, brutal
og aggressiv på en gang! KONKHRA har deres
helt egen unikke sound, og udskiftningen af
bassist og drummer, Martin og Jon, med Lars
Smidt (FURIOUS TRAUMA) og Johnny
Nielsen (CYBORG) har ikke ændret

KONKHRA

Det var først hensigten, at interviewe KONKHRA til et gig med FROZEN SUN på CAFE 1000FRYD, Aalborg, men grunden en skide dårlig båndoptager + diverse, blev det ikke til noget. Lige meget. En god uge senere, d. 29/12, fangede jeg Claus (guitar, vocal) på telefonen, for at høre lidt om det nye album "Sexual Affective Disorder".

Albummet er mere gennemarbejdet. Der er tænkt mere over opbygningen af musikken, og (ved hjælp af Tomas Skogsberg -red) vi har fået den lyd vi gerne ville have. Alt i alt tror jeg ikke, det kunne være bedre, vi er fuldt ud tilfredse.

**Hvad vil du betegne som den mest markante forskel siden "Stranded", rent musikalsk?**

Jeg spiller kun ren solo på hele pladen, og koncentrerer mig mere om det rytmiske, og så omvendt for Anders’ vedkommende. Samtidig har vi arbejdet meget mere med stemmen, hvor Anders og jeg skiftes til at synge
